MINDWALKS I WALK IN MY MIND MAIN ABOUT INSTALLATIONS EXHIBITION
Mindwalks Renowned artists Richard Long, Hamish Fulton and Hermann de Vries made walking integral to their art. De Vries appropriated ‘cognito ergo sum’ and carved ‘I walk therefore I am’ on a rock. Tony Collier, who has Motor Neurone Disease, reacted strongly - “I CANNOT WALK BUT I AM – I WALK IN MY MIND” - generating the Mindwalks concept through collaborative dialogue. Mindwalks is about creating the highest standard works of art, realizing the creativity in the mind of someone with severe physical limitations through collaboration with a non-disabled artist. In doing so it engages and challenges, changing attitudes, perceptions and understanding through an array of outputs. Mindwalks is continually developing as an experimental project. Applications for funding new works are underway. We would be pleased to hear from you whatever your interest – Arts, medical, funding or in becoming a possible future participant. Contact details:
